I have an uncle that has Mesothelioma cancer and happens to be an inmate at the Federal Medical Center in Butner, North Carolina. He recently called me and told me something disturbing. He says he gets severe pains all over his chest and it runs to his legs, hes asked several times for help and one night the pain was so bad that he screamed and cried for help including his fellow inmates protested to the nurse in charge but the nurse in charge just mocked him! and said ” oh hes just another inmate ” and didn’t do anything to help him. The doctor attending him also ignores his pleas for help and sends another male nurse to flip him over and put a morphine patch on him once in a while. Once that male nurse flipped him over so hard, he dropped my uncle off the bed and just left him there on the floor, mind you my uncle can no longer move. My uncle also speaks very little english and says he and his other spanish speaking friends get treated very differently in a bad way.I mean isn’t treating a sick dying man in severe pain like this some form of torture?!! i don’t know what to do to help him or get an investigation going? please anyone if you have any advice or guidance for me, please do help.

For school we have to figure out what disease a person has after hearing a brief story how they began to show symptoms and died. The story I have to do is about a farmer who had a winter full of rain, a perfect spring and a great wheat harvest. After a year of good luck, he decided he was going to fix his barns roof. He worked on it for hours each day. After the roof was done he went to bed with a fever and chills. He then had trouble breathing and was hospitalized, he died two days later.

I’m thinking that he might have Mesothelioma, a disease you get from asbestos. I know that it takes a year to kill someone if untreated, and it sounds like he was in his barn (which had an old roof, and old building sometimes have asbestos) alot of that year. A lot of the symtoms are the same too. I’m just not sure if the symptoms are suppose to come sooner or something, so I was wondering if Im right or not. Does anyone know?
I’m pretty sure he started fixing the roof after the harvest. The actual sheet says “Once harvesting was done, he decided that the barn needed a new roof.”. Looking back on it if it went over a course of a year, then he spent the Summer and Autumn after the spring working on it too… I think

An aunt passed, an offer was made that would allow us to live in her house and take over ownership so we began renovations. We are currently not in the best financial situation so we decided to do the brunt of the work ourselves. We removed old (25+ years) deteriorating carpet and found beneath it many broken floor tiles and green soft rotted wood below. We decided we needed to replace the rotted board, but there was tile on top. What to do? What to do? “REMOVE IT!” We thought. So we pried up all the tile with putty knives. After wards we decided to look online for directions on removing the adhesive from the floorboards and lo and behold on one website there’s a picture of our EXACT tile. Contains asbestos it says. So I was struck near panic and even though that was a month ago it still wells up now and then. We weren’t living in the house, still have our apartment, and just went on the weekends to work on it but I think all and all we have had about 17-20 hours exposure to whatever we kicked up in the air with the tile. Whatever dust there was I cleaned up almost immediately because I have allergies. We wore no face masks, no protective clothing, nothing – as I was completely unaware that asbestos floor tile even existed (yes I’m an idiot). I’ve found a few similar posts of people freaking out about unintended asbestos exposure via removing old tile, and my one and only friend in the world apparently did the same damn thing so I’m not the only idiot in the world that may have set myself on the path to mesothelioma, but like the title says, I’m frightened. We had the tile tested and it came back 93% Vinyl, 7% asbestos and the adhesive somehow has no asbestos at all. I know what’s done is done and there’s nothing I can do now, but how worried would you be?

So, there is a member of my family who is very sick. He has Mesothelioma and can not take medicine to treat it (long story). He is constantly in pain and is suffering. He mentioned to my great grandmother a couple days ago… “I want god to take me, but he obviously doesn’t want me…I’m still here” The thing is, my family is really religious (aside from my mother, father, and I) And his family is REALLY religious.

So, do you think it is wrong that he is asking “god” to take him, with him being a hard core Christian? Is it wrong that he wishes to be dead and leave his family behind? Would he like, go to “hell” or somthing for wishing that on himself? What is your personal view on this? I would like anyone of any religion to answer, I want to see what your personal belief and oppinion is..

I have contracted an asbestos related tumour which am informed was dormant and could have been inhaled over 40 years ago.I was the second person on site when an Victor bomber crashed on take off in 1962 I spent over two hours at this site with all debris and chemicals etc but wasn’t aware if this could have been where I may have got Mesothelioma.
I served many years in the Royal Air Force joining at age 15 But my trade was Telegraphist.
It just happened that this crash happened as I was coming off duty in Akrotiri.
I have never worked with this stuff knowlngly but do know that RAF Cosford Billets were heated and lagged with asbestos etc and I spent almost two years in such accomodation also at Bletchley where the heating was sparse to say the least and tug of war between us and the displaced people trying to survive at this time.Any help would be most appreciated

My mom died of mesothelioma, which is the asbestos cancer, last year. We have no idea where she was exosed so I am trying to learn as much as I can about the places she lived. She lived at Carswell in the fifties. I would like to know if anybody knows anything about Carswell, or the area surrounding it. If there are any factories around that area, or how far away it is from the Summit and 5th streets (because 19 mesothelioma cases were diagnosed in that area).

I’ve grown very concerned that autism will prove to be like mesothelioma, i.e., that we will ultimately discover that autism is directly caused by some common substance (like a flame retardent or insecticide), just like mesothelioma is caused by exposure to asbestos. Get rid of asbestos and mesothelioma goes away. Get rid of XYZ substance and autism goes away.

I’m concerned that we as human beings are leaving a natural wilderness (as we cultivate civilization) only to create a new one.
